In ancient Mayan civilization, cacao was known as the “food of the gods”. Ixcocoa, the Mayan chocolate goddess of the cacao tree, was an ancient fertility goddess, an earth goddess and a matriarchal head in a society. It is said she would be invoked to call in good harvest along with other gods, and taught people to plant seeds.
In this class we will start by diving into history and exploring the goddess Ixcocoa and the roots of this plant. We will learn fun and easy recipes to craft our own raw chocolates with superfoods and adaptogens, raw vegan truffles, and more. After which we will drop into deep meditation and explore new ways of eating the cacao chocolate as a kind of sacrement in a community of sisterhood. Organic snacks and drinks will be provided.
